Pay in, get kicked out. And the government wants to make subscribing to them required for every aspect of life.

Reasons that I might need a lawyer?
Divorce? Nope. My wife can have whatever we own and I'll pay whatever Indiana's max % for child support is.
Defense? Not if I'm guilty.
Suing somebody else? For what? I don't plan on needing to sue anybody for money that they owe me, and "Injury or loss" lawsuits are just revenge money that I don't want anyway.
The only time that I would ever hire a lawyer would be to defend myself against a crime or act that I didn't commit.
Other than that? There are more important things than revenge money.
edit: And yes. Taking money from another person, simply because they wronged you, is revenge.
In actual divorce you'd quickly change your mind. Same with suing in the right situation. I don't believe that post for a second.

After that we got a good alarm system installed and monitored
Hate to say it, but that is probably a big factor in why you got dropped. If you didn't make changes after the first time, I mean. I can understand your rationale, but yeah

I post that I think revenge lawsuits are dumb, and turning into the American way  , on every single thread on this topic.
That post was simply pointing out that I cannot currently imagine a single scenario where I would need a lawyer to sue another person.(Since you wished it upon me, without wishing it up on me.)
