I am thinking about investing in wireless cameras and a hidden recording box. I don't even trust my apartment staff from stealing from me.

that's the big thing...if they find out you had a door unlocked, you can get screwed. even if they do something like break a window and get in your garage and then open the door going into the house (that hardly anyone ever locks).
sucks though. That's one thing I like about our cove. We have 3 retired families that live here (only 7 houses), and 2 of them watch out for most of the cove all the time. The family on the corner has their living room setup so that when watching tv, they can see out the window straight at our house. They've called us many times while we were out of town or something telling us that someone was at our house to see if we were expecting someone to be there.

This is also the same insurance company that screwed us in 08 after the accident
we had them for both home and auto insurance
accident happened
Auto insurance insured the truck
home owners insured the stuff inside the truck (clothes, laptops, phones, wallets, pocketbooks)
I had just paid I think 8 grand for the truck the previous fall.. accident happened that August (so not that long). they knew the story, they knew what happened.. they knew I wouldn't contest the amount of the check for the truck.. they sent me a check for I think it was 1800.. they knew I wouldn't GAF, and they were right I didn't
ok, now the stuff in the truck (besides the obvious) they said please give us an itemized list of everything in the truck .. well, that was fun  took us a lot of time and tears to list everything in the truck we lost.... a short time after we submitted the list they told us to GTFO they found a loophole, and blamed it on the flood, and we were SOL
Our fault for not leaving.. we should of ...
