Too expensive for me in comparison to a windows based machine. Have heard they are nice though.

99% of people who have a MAC and feel the need to spout off about how amazing they are are technically incompetent.

Half the reason the MACs are 'so good' is because they spoon feed you and hold your hand through everything. People who know nothing can still figure things out.

The other half is because for whatever reason the fates have chosen Apple to represent being 'hip and trendy' and it's a status thing.

I have one at work (iMac). It's a sub-par computer, with a different OS. I don't need to be spoon fed things and I hate having to compliance everything to make my programs work. "Oh that's ok, it doesn't run natively but if you just download this app, this program, install this...it'll work". The one thing that runs well is iTunes....YAAAAYYYYY

There's some delight in ale and wine,
And some in girls with ankles fine,
But my delight, yes, always mine,
Is to dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

My daughter just got an Apple laptop. That is what they use at her work so she gave in. She really likes it but is having to learn computer all over again.

I use an imac at work, but I don't need any proprietary software, or a lot of hardware power. Right out of the box, it's better than any windows user experience. I use a windows machine at home because I like to play games. Aside from gaming, I would prefer a mac.

For the most part, I think everyone hating on mac has never used one. I was like that once too, until my company bought me a mac. I love it now. Though outside of work, I would have a hard time justifying the premium price for what is often inferior interior hardware, but the screens and aluminum bodies rock. And the majority of users would prefer a stronger user experience than have access to the best hardware upgrades or special software. People are lazy, they want to be happy with what comes right out of the box which I think is rarely the case with most PC's.

You spout this like it's a bad thing. You do know that the majority of home users aren't the technological advanced type people you find on the boards.

We own 3 macs. My 2006 Imac which I have never had crash and is still running like a champ (even through the abuse of two toddlers), my wife has a macbook and I have a macbook pro.

And before you say I am not technologically advanced.... I built my last 2 rigs before I made the switch. I just got tired of fiddling with it and continuously having to upgrade components. I have never once had to search out new drivers for my Macs.
