It's not like this is a really uncommon practice for infants.

I'd lick the insides of Alicia Silverstone's mouth without a second thought, even if she was eating fish sticks at the time.

I think if the kid is at any health risk here it's from protein deficiency rather than mouth germs from his mom.

I personally find the mouth-to-mouth part kind of gross though. I can see chewing it into smaller pieces if necessary, but why not just put it in your hand and put it in the kid's mouth? Also don't think I could handle a slobbery kid trying to lick my lips to get food.

Tessa does this sometimes. No biggie. Usually not from mouth to mouth but she chews it up into smaller pieces sometimes.

this, but the mouth to mouth thing is too much cause she grabs onto my mouth already, would not want to encourage that behavior

Fox News asked medical and nutritional experts what they thought of the feeding method. "It doesn't seem like a hygienic practice," one doctor told the site.

Can't possibly be less hygenic than swapping spit and other bodily fluids with someone.

That being said, I don't see myself ever doing this. Babies are slobbery enough as it is

no, it falls along the same lines of not feeding an infant raw honey for fear of botulism concerns... the adult human mouth has gunk in it that could do detriment to a very early developing system
