Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'Where have I gone wrong?' Then a voice says to me, 'This is going to take more than one night.'
Elitist.

Not all extroverts are douchey and annoying, just like how not all introverts are intolerable to interact with.

Ugh. Fkin huggy people. I barely hug my own family, I only want a hug from someone not related if they're a hot chick. And even then, you better not be in my personal bubble. 3+ feet away, please. Don't touch toes and then talk to me, I hate that.

So two blips in a 1000+ word article. Your critique is obviously not drawn from those two parts, as your comment is not centered on the "Introverts > extroverts" issue.
My comment is not centered on the "Introverts > extroverts" issue because there isn't one. The author of the article is just so self-absorbed that he seems to think the social interactions of others are tailored to cause him discomfort. Instead of just admitting he has a preference, he instead tries to turn this into some kind of us vs. them bs. And this attitude is littered throughout the article, I just wasn't interested in copypasting the whole thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of 'gifted' people being introverted was actually true. Not just because introverts are 'smarter', but being introverted tends to make a person focus more on their interests/work. Extroverts naturally end up focusing on their people/"life" more.
Eh tu, brute?
levgre posted:
The other blip is the most contentious part, to an extent he just explained poorly. Those are common strengths of introverts (which he feels pride for), extroverts tend to have other strengths. But these are just trends, and there are lots of exceptions.
And maybe he explain himself perfectly, you don't know unless you're the author. All we can go by is what was submitted.

How am I supposed to hug you from 3 feet away? Is that where your penis is?

I go back and forth between the two. Sometimes you can't get me to shut up, other times I feel like punching you in the throat every time you try to start a conversation with me.
I prefer extroverts though, I hate awkward silences.

Yeah, we have had to work hard to get her to the point where she asks / gestures to get the okay to give a hug. Unsolicited hugging / touching drives me up the wall. More than once I have had to restrain myself from punching / elbowing someone from an unsolicited hand on my shoulder.
Daughters #1 & #3 picked up on my dislike for personal space invasion from the get-go.
Sadly even after being with my wife for 17 years, I still have that twitch of "ack, someone is touching me" when she walks up alongside me and gives me a hug as a surprise. I have gotten better at suppressing it for certain people. It used to bug her a lot. Now, she accepts that it is just a part of who I am. The fact that she understands and I have made an effort to open up a bit has worked rather well.
Most of the people that will hug me know me well enough that they will look at me and open their arms, giving me the choice to accept the space invasion. They also don't take my occasional refusal of a hug as an offense either. They know I have issues with people in my personal space.
