15 years ago all you saw on the road was Honda's. These days all you see is Hyundai's.
Hey, consumers can't say no to cheap well-made sedans.

Mangler had an accident on the way home from the liquor store. He was run off the road and crashed into a woman's clinic. It was one giant Pabst smear.

about not buying german, be forewarned that VW owns a TON of stock in many automakers
GM is still the world's biggest automaker.
Toyota is #2 (in more ways than one...)
Volkswagon is #3 poised to overtake Toyota and may vie for the #1 slot soon.

Buick Lucerne with all the bells and whistles. We just got rid of ours after putting 100k on it in 4 years. It was comfortable, quiet and we never had a bit of problem with it. We commute 100 miles a day for work.

Excellent suggestion. Cadillac DTS or even an STS would be awesome as well.
Nothing beats big car comfort.

Lucerne is actually built at the Cadillac factory. My mother in law has a DTS and it was identical to ours except that she had the massaging front seats and heated rear seats and we didn't.
Edit: Oh, and we paid 20k less than her

As for the German stuff, I'm totally uncomfortable supporting that country - and someone has already clearly pegged why.
Pfft! Get over it.

Indeed. The people from WWII are gone.
You can chose to believe me or not (I don't care either way, it's still the truth), German autos are the standard the world over. Rival companies try to emulate them because they are quite simply, the best.
In other words: You can get an imitation, or you can get the real thing.

so how much do car salesmen cut off a price if you pay for it in full right away? In other words, if you buy a new car and pay for it all right then and there?

German is nice but wouldn't you rather buy Russian?
There's much to be said for german engineering, but there's also much to be said for russian industry which btw defeated superior german engineering in WWII through mass production. mmm-hmm
