I want to mention; Please don't /tp without asking. First, it's a little rude. Second, it can get someone killed. The game does a push/shove thing after a /tp and if the person happens to be on the edge of a lava pit or on a high tower the game will bump one of the people off. Usually it's the person who did the /tp who dies but sometimes it's the other.
I only say that because many of the new players don't know this. Those of us who played on the last server learned it the hard way. I'd rather new players don't have to learn that lesson. I'd also rather not be on the losing end of one of those lessons. =)

Speaking of TPing; the command is case sensitive.
Example from last night:
HannsG mentioned finding something cool, and I wanted to see it
/tp han
I pop up, look around, block under me pop, and I'm in lava... I lost my whole mining kit
HannsG mentions again that people should come see. So I'm like... OK... must've been a mis click.
/tp han
I pop up, look around, block under me pops, and I'm in lava... again...
At that point I think HannsG is greifing
Then, through the course of a lot of confused messages back and forth realize that I TP'd to Mithan, who was building a Lava Fountain...
So yeah, Sorry HannsG... My bad on that one >.<

I too would prefer to get rid of the Warps.
Some sort of Portal that we can build would be much better. This would also give us some cool mega project to do by making a big new section where the starting area is with ports to everybody.

I say get rid of both warps and teleports.
We could build another Sub for portals.

I think that worked great. This time though I think we should make it less, obtrusive? Something simple like four portals with a small pond or something in the middle.

There is a simpler plugin called WarpGates that are basically one to one portals. I think the upside of those is they will be less likely to break since there is no sign cycling or button interaction. For those I would think some type of cavern with portals scattered around it like the old sub/hub from AC days would work best. With that you would have various portals scattered around the world all ending up in the underground complex where the portals are along with whatever other community stuff we want to add.
I'll be looking into those today when I get back and applying some more tweaks to our setup.
