Ya'll wanna giggle at my complete lack of musical talent? I gave up on playing any more of requiem for a dream with my note blocks and settled for the first few bars/intro. You can just scroll on down past the guide if you have no interest in it, my quick clip of the 'Ocura version' of the songs intro is down at the bottom: http://minecraft.ign.com/articles/features/7201/Guide-Creating-Your-First-Note-Block-Song

That video was done on a rushed sp map version of my note block run, I couldn't get it done on steel's server as I was lagging a bit while trying to record. The ones I did upon the server are actually a bit better as I didn't screw up the spacing on the pauses in the music

Ugh... I really hope we don't have to start over again...

Doing everything I can to not have to. Keeping an eye on the regression while I work on a new server. It seems to be doing nothing but it is using variable resources so it has to be doing something. Once the server is done I will start researching more in-depth on rdiff to see what I have to do to get past it and recover further back.

How much further back are we talking?

lol

Btw, obviously thanks for everything you are doing, I have no right to complain about anything.

I got impatient (probably a mistake) and stopped the regression after 4-5 hours then reran it in verbose. It is regressing to the 15:30 incremental which is essentially half an hour before the server crashed. The big problem being the server crashed while it was doing the 16:00 incremental, hence the big mess. I am assuming the regression is actually working but is just going to take a long damn time. The drive is thrashing like mad and CPU/RAM usage keeps flexing so something is being done by rdiff. My guess is since the world is thousands of files/folders it will take it a while to regress it.

Truthfully I am not focusing too hard on it and just flip up the SSH windows or glance at the activity lights on the box occasionally. My main focus right now is the Ubuntu 64 distro I am installing/configuring on the new box.

OK in verbose I can see it is actually doing something but it is horribly slow. Like think/grind for hours then dump a ton of file changes and dump the results to the screen then start grinding again. At this rate it will still be grinding away when the other server is up and running, lol.

OK looks like a solid recovery of half an hour before the crash. Another problem I am running into, and one reason it was taking so long, is the map is now a gig in size... that is bigger than just about any other map I have read about. It is also just about maxing out the original ram disk I made, lol.

Spending most of my time playing with the new server but I do want to at least get the old one running again for you guys too. Should have it limping along soon enough.
