Oh and the new map is ready to roll. A nice landing zone in a large snow biome linked to a room at 115 in the nether for the start of the new HTH.

Wait what?

I thought we were waiting on release??

Steel is so good he's hacked the time space continuum.

Supposed to be released during minecon. I'm guessing during or soon after the Keynote Address and Minecraft Launch with Notch which runs from 1 to 2:30 tomorrow. I just gen'd a new map and built a quick landing area in both the world and the nether for us to start on. When the official release happens I'll archive the old maps, prep a new server and drop the map I made on it then launch it. The rest (backups, bukkit, etc) can happen time permitting and as soon as they come available.

Or yeah I hacked the time space continuum.

I dunno if that has been discussed, but are we going vanilla again?

Ie: no warps /home etc etc?

I don't plan on adding anything but admin/management type tools. Probably World Guard/Edit for locking down areas and any massive remodeling the Ops may need to do and the dynamic map (if it gets updated) and stuff along those lines. No gates or warps or even home/spawn commands I don't think though. I liked having to explore and travel to get places and building the HTH was lots of fun and felt rewarding.

Steel generated a map in current version on the assumption that the terrain gen wont be changing for release. He'll use that when we go live on release.

No warps, no plugins etc is my strong preference. Using the nether / regular travel to get around seemed right to me and with the HTH it really wasn't time consuming. Plus building on that was fun, yet another reason to have the nether.
