Oddly enough I've been playing a lot prior to the update, learning things and having fun (usually). It's been helpful to be a little reckless in this devil-may-care period. I learned some lessons about lava and water today, and hopefully I'll only learn those once... I've also tried my hand at a mob grinder. I'll be happy to get the new map and official release; I'm pretty anxious to start on something that will last a little while.

Pro tip: don't jump in lava, not even once.

If you have only drowned in lava once you are doing it wrong. I've burned up so many times it no longer phases me, lol.

This. Now I look at lava as a nice, albeit expensive and unexpected, way to return home with full health. =)

I do believe there are no spawners left in the castle, and no chests.

I haven't explored much of the perimeter but one side is pretty safe since that was where I started. 3 wools from there. I'm not looking forward to exploring topside, so maybe I'll explore the perimeter of the lower section and see if I can find more.

I brought back most of the supplies to the grassy intersection.

Went across the water from the grassy intersection and found inverted gravel pyramids. triggered them and ran for it. Saw sand at the top of one so I climbed up and ended up topside right near where I got our first sapling. So I've made a little outpost there and I'm slowly lighting the desert and torching down hills. It's a pretty safe spot though not too convenient to get to.

For giggles we have a lava source and a cobble generator there and of course a tree farm. No wheat yet, need more dirt. Also need to bring over more arrows. I found and lit another one of his spawner blocks but didn't break it. I figure maybe a simple grinder under it would be worthwhile, or at least convenient.

Now it has a wheat farm and a nether portal to link to the other.

Nice, lol. Been busy as hell but want to get back in and wrap this map up.

Been itching to start the canopy one... for some reason the thought of falling to my death and/or a ginormous forest fire intrigues me.

CC has no source of fire that I could find. When I had enough of it I gave myself a flint and steel and went nuts. Much lag was created.
