Grinder up at my place in town.

Breaking glass will cause an emergency, DO NOT BREAK GLASS.

I'll be adding an option to send them off to an arena, probably over the wall. Lighting the desert east of town will improve spawns, same with lighting caves under there.

Sorry about how long it took. I spaced on it until someone else had a problem and I remembered you were still waiting.

OK Nether gates...

They dynamically seek a destination when you enter them.
World -> Nether divide coords by 8 to get drop point
Nether -> World multiply coords by 8 to get drop point

From the drop point it will find the closest gate and portal you there. If there is no gate within a certain distance (128 blocks according to wiki) a gate will be created at your drop point. Due to the disparity between the two dimensions it is not uncommon to have everyone sharing a gate in the nether. You can fix this easy enough though by creating your own linking gate at your drop coordinates (as calculated above). Since the two gates will be on each other's drop spot you will be pretty much guaranteed to hit the right gate.

So all those people living around me, for example, that end up back at my gate instead of their own... get the coords for your gate in the normal world and divide the X and Z by 8 each (ignore Y) then go to the nether and build a gate at those new coords.

Speaking of nether... a "Highway Thru Hell", or HTH, has been created in the nether that runs from the nether portal to my tower (and anyone nearby that makes their own) all the way down to my new island. Sneezy and I have seeded gates along the route exposing a lot of cool areas for exploration. Heck one is hanging in the air above the ocean at a height of 101, lol. Others are in mines or ravines or whatever. I didn't strip them out or really explore them so they are there for the taking. Also, it would be easy enough to extend the network to include other communities on the map. Since the nether is an eighth the size of the world map and most of the HTH is in tunnels it makes travel easy and much faster than over world.

The nether got wiped when 1.9 dropped since it was overhauled. During testing I dropped a new gate and became the master gate for the area. That is easy enough to work around though, as detailed above.

Yeah mostly people looking for new biomes... snow and shroom. There is a hell of a lot of ocean out there though, lol. I came out down there when testing the nether so recorded the coords and journeyed there overland the hard way to setup a new base. With the HTH in place though it will be easy enough to get some distance from people by wandering far in the nether then dropping a gate and exploring from there. The only real downside is with the oceans you often end up deep underground, like depth 20 or deeper. I guess for exploration purposes that isn't all bad though as I frequently hit ravines or mines and anything that deep is going to yield some nice returns in resources if you explore it.
