I would imagine it depends on the mods and what they modify in the jar. Try doing it with just a texture pack installed and see what you get.
Will try that tonight. I'm guessing SP Commands might be the problem but I'll start with just a texture pack installed.
I have no trouble with SPC installed. (still at 1.4 though.)

With help of 16yo (I'm almost 17 you know!) the Lava/Water double helix was finished a few minutes ago. (She has day off so her and l337 wife can head down to Indy this afternoon)
Thought I'd share some pics she just sent. Thanks Shoo.
Looking up to openings in top of skull where you can enter the water or lava stream is you should desire.
At top of interior of skull looking down helix to ground floor.
Lava portion of helix empties via falls into first floor lava pool. On over side of wall the water helix does the same.

It's basically doing the same thing over and over and over and over till you decide that maybe sea level is far enough down and you really don't want to continue to bedrock.
Started to make a simple one like the repeating pattern video on YT then I saw a pic of a massive helix. If you dropped the walls and top you'd have a spiral staircase.
The YT vid of the simple one got me thinking on the staircase line since in it he states you could always just the same method to make a spiral staircase. You don't have to hit me in the head with a bedrock block more than once.

Game keeps crashing for me all of a sudden. Just going to black screen every few minutes. Java updated and tried deleting my MC folder.
Also, I've noticed my underground forest has lost all it's...forest-ness and turned into an underground field. Any ideas?

Start with a fresh jar. As I found out the hard way something in this last update sporked a few things.
