Agreed. Sucks this was a wasted opportunity for some exposure. He won't get into a decent pvp group in thid, is my prediction. A duo will probably kill his xp group. He'll rage quit.

He said he doesnt want to because he wants to play this game like a real noob logging for the first time. but he doesnt get that if someone came into NF and said hi im new to the game could anyone help me, they would get the pampered treatment from a few people and guilds.
there are dead spots in the game. he wonders why nobody talked in the pve zones, thats because everyone is in the pvp zones.. its a pvp focused game, the pve just a speedbump.
so ofcourse hes gonna level slow, he probably hasnt talked to more than 2 3 people..

Why play a skald for a first time player? Stick to an arms or wizard (or hib/mid equivalent) and learn the basics. Playing a class like a skald and you are gonna have a rough time.

I've typically thought of a skald as one of the easiest classes to play, myself.

timing dds, using the songs, getting the side chain stun in, using ranged interupts on the right targets, kiting if needed, there is a lot more to do than to just slam and polearm spam. Using all the abilities in the right way requires knowledge about other classes, timing them right and coordination. If you are a great gamer you will pick it up fast but for 99% of people this wont be true, just simply because of a lack of knowledge about the game mechanics.
Just my 2 eurocents.

Out of demi-human style race & hybrid, troll skald was probably one of the better choices.
