What I did was click the icon, go to properties and change the word "lanucher" to "WoW".

open launcher, open your sound/mixer options. then just turn down the volume slider for the launcher.
This actually works perfectly. Doing this ONLY mutes the Launcher sound (or just decreases the volume) and affects nothing else. You don't need to ever change it again, either. It saves the setting permanently.

The volume slider for the launcher only thing is a windows 7 only option btw gang.
