Well, let's compare two forms of entertainment then...

The Avatar Special Edition 3 Blu-Ray set I just bought contains a 3 hours movie (long version) and over 8 hours of bonuses and features. That's 11 hours of entertainment I paid 22 Euros, so that's a 2 Euro per hour value.

A month of WoW costs 13 euros (if using month by month payment), for something I can log in anytime, for a full month, for as many hours as I want. Let's say someone plays not much, like "only" 5 hours per week, that's 20 hours per month... a 0.65 Euro per hours value. And most play more than 5 hours per week.

Yeah, a MMORPG is still a very cheap form of entertainment.

An excellent way to put it!

Oh yeah I always have found it pretty cost effective. I am a big movie person so go to the theater a lot. Just one trip to the theater with my girlfriend costs me about 2 months of WoW lol.

The pets are there, you just have to pay $25 for them now. They know they already got you on the subs cuz you are addicted, that's money n the bank, they want more of your money now. No such thing as gratitude where Kotick is involved.

It costs $15/mth to play this game, I could easily blow $150 in a single night at a bar...

Hmmm, for 2 hours of Symphonic Entertainment:

Symphony ticket per concert = $66 + gas + downtown parking garage + dry cleaners bill + cost of 1 time use hosiery that shreds on container opening + overly priced stale refreshments + brunch@Hilton all while sitting quietly and properly in a crowded perfume-infused enviroment with 20 minute lines for access to the 5 stalls in the ladies room

vs

4 accounts at $60/month + wearing washable jeans and barefeet + yummy crunchy snacks while kicking butt with Wagner blaring in the background in the comfort of my own home

Hmmm.

It's not about the money.

It's about the lifestyle!

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.
The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.
Free advice is often worth what you pay for it: nothing.
