I recognize that benefit, but I don't often have 2-3 hours to sit around waiting for the elemental attack or otherwise.

Not to be a downer or anything but the bosses are all just rehashed vanilla wow bosses and the loot will be replaced within minutes of getting to the new areas in Cataclysm. I wouldn't get too worked up about it.

The only useful loot I saw after running 4 waves today was necklaces and in some cases, rings. As I don't Raid, I go with what I can get from vendors and Heroics. Necklaces cap at ilvl 232 in this case so the 251 drop in these quick boss fights is a nice upgrade. Also, as a MDPS only one of the vendor rings is useful so this is also another nice upgrade. Many tanks wanted the shield but it seems fairly comparable to the PvP shield so I am not certain how big an upgrade it really is. Everything else is easily beaten by vendor gear and JP is easy as pie to collect these days.

Loved the attack on Stormwind. And the 4 bosses are nice but i expected something at the end. An achievement or something. Not just ONE pice of loot drop. Oh well.

We had probably a 300+ mammoth train going on in Org (Illidan) last night.

Same, we had mammoths literally wall to wall from the entrance all the way back to the bank.

Just took part in one of the attacks, we tried to close all the portals but it went on for over an hour and then the event stopped....what a waste of an hour!

I noted this as well. It's the same as Diablo 2 ala Epic Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal. Even so, I would do the event if I could, but the event pretty much needs you to be level 80 or near enough.
As far as the loot, granted again. But, that's true any time the game updates with expansions.
Just need to get burned from Deathwing now and achievement completed. I believe that's the only achievement for the event.
