I was sitting here thinking about how the changes would affect me. And it occured to me, though I have the most 80's on Alliance, and of the 6 years I have played, about 4 of them have been as Alliance.

I found myself thinking of the changes from a horde perspective.

Do you consider yourself Horde or Alliance and what do you play now? On the outside I always thought of myself as Alliance...but I think, deep down, I am Horde. I started the game as Horde, changed to alliance.

Up to and until WOW, every single MMO or RPG I had ever played had one playing from the "good guys" perspective (And I have been playing RPG's sice they were text based)...IE the humans, Dwarves, Elves etc...sure some games deviated from this, such as the multi-factions in SC, and of course the original Warcraft games..but all in all the majority placed the player on the "good"(Humans and allies) side vs "evil"(orcs, trolls, etc).

It is for this very reason that I chose to play as Horde...


I play on one server, I play Horde, and I have zero alliance toons.

I consider myself a gamer with no loyalty to any in-game factions. I go where my friends are.

I can see this perspective, but when you think of the changes are you thinking of them from a standpoint of Org is gonna be a mess or SW could use a good earthquake, what is the barrens gonna be like, how will this affect quest hubs in Westfall, etc etc.

In that context I think of SW and IF because 90% of my time in WoW has been Alliance. I took a few breaks and raided on a couple of my horde chars but I always come back to my original, Alliance, guild.

I really only play Horde characters. All on a single PvP server. I can't identify at all with the Alliance nor bother to care about anything that affects them. I actually dislike them in general at this point.

Just the way it turned out really as I never set out with a faction preference.

Full disclosure: I technically have a few alliance all under level 18 (and one DK level 60) that I might log in once every year or two if my server is down at the wrong time.

I love Orcs, I love Taurens.


I love Gnomes, I love Dwarfs.


The rest does not matter. I play for the races, how they move, how they look.


I have characters on both sides.


However, as I've said before, our guild started on Alliance side because we had a guildmate who really wanted to play a Paladin. (Yup, I play for my friends. And yup, we were the "bad guys".) We also rolled Horde on a 2nd server back when you could not have characters on opposing faction on the same server.


Since then, we've rolled more Horde on our "Alliance" server.


So, if you put a gun to my head and said: "choose!", I'd say "Alliance" from playing there so long. But the dirty secret is we have 2x Horde toons.

Recently went Horde and all, but really curious about what happened to the Alliance side. 5+ years spent in Stormwind counts for a lot in my book, hehe.

I have 6 Lv80 Horde and 2 Alliance, so... Horde.
