Now that I am 80 what should I be doing in order to prepare for the expansion? Is it worth it to gear up at all? Do heroics?

I know that I am going to get my trade skills to max, but aside from that I am wondering what is worth my while.

I might just start my alt now as it is going to be a human pally, that way I am a bit ahead of the mass of rerolls when it starts.

I wouldn't do anything more if you are even remotely close to burnt out. Take a small break before cataclysm. If you aren't burnt out, can start collecting justice/honor points. Don't spend them at this point though.

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.

Don't forget to get your worgen tabard from the quartermaster and wear it while you farm heroics (assuming you are already exalted with all your other cities).

Even though you don't get a mount for it, you never know in the future so go ahead and get exalted with them while its so easy now.

I got half way to revered today with goblins just from the tabard.

Glad goblins get a cool bike

Why would it be any harder when Cat launches? You'll still get the rep from Cataclysm dungeons if you're wearing the tabard.
