I actually enjoy Strand of the Ancients more and more. It's quick, over in 15 minutes (or less), and if with a good team who knows what to do, or against a defense that doesn't, it's pretty exhilerating. Easily the best of the 'vehicle' mechanic ones.

WSG before the time limit could be painful. Now even if the teams are fairly evenly matched it still ends in a reasonable length of time. The only problem I have seen is when the more powerful team in a mismatch doesn't cap the flag and instead only farms the lesser team for honor.

I wish they'd pop the newer BG's into lower level brackets.

I think rotating maps using a group of standard rule sets would have helped a long time ago. I never understood why each BG has to have a unique/slightly modified rule set.

I agree with the OP that WSG is the worst. Turtling, GY camping and glitching (at least in the past) make it one of the most frustrating BGs.

I've always hated PvP in WoW for two reasons. Gear imbalances and a players who don't play to win, which is Blizzard's fault from how they created the PvP reward system. I'll never understand why better players are rewarded with better gear, which increases the gear imbalance problem and exacerbates the need to grind out honor to get better gear in order to be competitive.

I usually love WSG, but I'm not going to lie I had to rage quit lastnight out of one. No one would get the flag back or get the flag. They are all mid or near the enemy gy even as the enemy flag carrier walks right by them. So enemy caps, DUH!

So then I try 3 or 4 times until I actually grab the flag and make it out alive. I make it to our base where now everyone is turtling even though enemy capped last! "SOMEONE has to go get the flag back people. All of you here is a sure fail. We can't ever win if they don't drop that flag and we will eventually drop it as they continue to send people in." (said shorter than that)

No one moves.

Ok, honestly guys, we have 10 minutes. We need some people to go get the flag back.

No one moves.

I go to my secret hiding spot so that nobody even knows where I am and they are still standing there... guarding an empty flag stand. Not 1 person would go on O.

A baddie finds me so I jump into the room where they are guarding the empty flag stand. I get killed but take the guy out with me. The flag drops and is just sitting there on the ground as 3 of our people stare at it. It finally auto returns from being on the ground too long.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore

WSG has its good and bad. You get a lot of dumb people in it for sure. The nice part is a smaller battle field. On a rogue alt, it's lotsa fun.

WSG is the simplest of all BGs and people still fail at it. AB is pretty simple too and plenty fail at it. Then for some reason people who suck at both do ok in EOTS, which is like a combo of the two. It's kinda mind boggling.

I like AV the least, because racing thru it cheapens it and is the "best" way to do it for max honor. AV is best as a drawn out slugfest as designed, but few people want to go thru 1-2 hour BGs. Even so AV kinda sucks. It'd be nice to have a 40 on 40 BG that was more battle intensive and less cheese-oriented. AV is either or a miserable turtle. There has to be a way to do 40 on 40 with more combat (not just a race) without the turtle and misery of choke point lemming suicide battles.
