How is this any different then planning to watch your favorite tv show's season premier or season ending? Or making plans to go to a new movie release? Or making plans to watch the Super Bowl/Stanley Cup/World Series? Or making plans to do anything that you enjoy?
because a show starts on a special time and date also the Super Bowl and the rest you have mentioned. WOW can be played every day and will not shut down next week!
Edit: if you plan your real life around a vid game which is availbale 7/24 and prolly for next 10 years, it HAS a huuuge nerd factor IMO of course 
When then call me and countless other people nerds if it makes you feel superior. I, and millions of other players, have been waiting for this expansion for over a year now. I want to play it when it's released. Not a few weeks or months later.
As Rill already mentioned, the release of a new expansion happens every 2 years or so. The other examples I mentioned happen all the time and yet people plan huge parties and such. Why aren't you mocking and belittling them? After all, they could watch the Super Bowl/Stanley Cup/World Series whenever they wanted, even weeks later.

Bro you dont get it heh? The comparison is lacking (as much as my english does  ) because there is no reason to watch stuff which is already outdated a few days later. wow is not outdated one week later and you will miss nothing. again, if you plan your entire life around a vid game which can be played over and over again the next weeks HAS a nerd factor for me.
i do understand that you are excited tho.

LOL are you sick? The amount of games i played have nothing to do with the space those games have taken in my real life.
Again, planing you entire life for one week or some days around a vid game HAS a nerd factor. I dunno how you can think that i do the same when you read my SIG. Some of those games i mentioned in my SIG are out for what over 10 years? so yes, i played/tried every year a new game. i dont see a nerd factor here dude.....
