especially doing the old quests an safing XPs by not turning it in makes me laugh.... N E R D S !!!!!

guys this is the new stuff for the next 2 years so take you time and enjoy your way to 85. what is awaiting you at 85 is the same old crap. run end game dungeons over and over again to get stuff which is now level what? 400ish instead of 277....with the same old + on stats only higher numbers!

I was given the chance to "work from home" during the week of the LK release... and uh.. didn't get much work done. I raced to 80 and was actually one of the first to 80 (I was 3rd or 4th).

It meant that when you started doing dungeons for gear, there was a very small clique of people to choose from. You ran with the same people. They all turned out to be damn good players, and progression through the dungeons was fast. We geared up VERY quick. Which meant if there was a choice for a slot when official Naxx raiding start, we went first. So you always got the best gear in Naxx ... etc, etc, etc, etc.

But the way the game is now, there's no point. Why race to have the "best" gear, when everyone... and I mean EVERYONE... will have the same gear in a week? You can argue the pros and cons to that all you want, but the bottom line is rushing now is a waste of time.

The only reason to rush highlights exactly why you SHOULND'T rush:

The only reason to rush is the one thing someone said they WEREN'T going to do, and that's stop and mine/herb/ gather. Prices are INSANE during the first 7-10 days of an expansion. You can do markups of 500-1000% (or more!) and be sure someone will pay it. So why wouldn't you bother? Because money is practically meaningless in this game. All the best gear comes from PLAYING. Dungeons drops, raids, etc etc. When was the last time you used GOLD PIECES to buying anything worth keeping???? NEVER! It's just not a part of this game.

I ordered my expansion online, it's being mailed to me, normal delivery. I don't care when it gets here. I probably won't even play the day I get it. When I do, I'll probably play for an hour then watch something on Netflix. I've learned my lesson firsthand-- rushing in Warcraft is a complete waste of time.

Whether you're talking about questing/leveling or end-game, they're both the same thing rehashed. For those that like the questing/leveling part, savor it. For many people, they enjoy end game, and the leveling process is just "more of the same," so they'd just as soon get through it as fast as possible so they can be on the cutting edge of the end-game-game.

And also, logging in to the wow vault video game forum in order to type out a post where you call other posters nerds is... sketchy at best. edit: And I just checked out your signature. You're priceless =D

Yes they do but the point is that you're stopping or going out of your way to go get a node. You get MORE xp by finishing your quests quickly and efficiently. Even if a node is 'on the way' it still requires time to dismount, grab it, remount and get going again.

My list isn't law by any means.

It's just what me a few friends plan on doing. I generally tell everyone else to play at the pace they want to and enjoy it the way they like it. My guild isn't touching raids until late January so everyone has plenty of time to enjoy themselves before buckling down into checking out the raiding scene. We're casual players, not hardcore.

Personally I LOVE questing and leveling and I'm really really good at it. I know I can get to 85 very very quickly but I can still read every quest and get all the lore and really enjoy the ride too. I assure you that my gaming experience will not be lacking at all by the way I choose to play for the next week or two. And I won't get burnt out and will still be here for the next expansion too. Everything else I take a leisurely pace. It's only the first few weeks of an expansion that I run around like a madman.

Sadly, release falls on finals week for one of the major universities here, which means I'm going to be swamped from Mon-Sat and on call the rest of the time. I don't anticipate much fun until next week. =P

New plan. Was informed by wife that both Tuesday and Thursday I'm at kids' school for Christmas presentation thing. Saturday I'm in the city for another responsibility. I'm guessing I'll be level 80.25 by Sunday. That and I'm enjoying the Rift closed beta too much. Not in a huge rush to play WoW yet.
