Wow some were claiming on the official forum that would get to level 85 in first day did not really think that would be possible guess I was wrong.

What I am more interested in is how long it takes for people to get to 85 through normal play. Server firsts are about as interesting as hotdog eating contests.

Been playing since around 12:30am PST and I'm up to 82 and about 15% in, doesn't look like it'll take all that long.

You can't please everyone. Plus I would have ask what is it you play for anyway? When wrath came out how much time was there between launch and ICC10/25 opening? Think abou thow long it will be before you see deathwing..and it's 2 years from the next expansion.

Have two guildies already 82 without much effort, they've been mainly running dungeons over and over.

This is how every xpack is, it's a rush to max level then do the end game. What do you want them to do?

wonder if Blizz employees sit around eating hot dogs and popcorn watching certain peeps lvl. and making bets amongst themselves on who will reach max lvl first?

Here is my problem with this expansion....

It took two years to give us 5 levels and while there was lots of end game content that was accessible (5 man dungeon finder grind), now that isn't the case. If you want to get good gear you need to do 10-25 mans.

They seem to be focused on getting/maintaining new players than keeping the older ones. The proof is in the 1-60 game and revamping of stuff, making it simpler.

They did a great job with the old world and the quests, but the biggest issue is (and it's huge for me and everyone I know) is that nobody wants to deal with Outland and Northrend again. I wish I could fast forward from 60 to 78. The 1-60 quests take a page right out of the WotLK chapter of this game. The way they incorported cutscenes, mounts, NPC fighting partners, goofy rides to locations (Caravan in EPL) and phasing, it feels just like WotLK.

I know Outland and Northrend are quicker now, but still. I can't stomach doing 60-78 (80) again. Ever.

I also think it sets a new precedent of them doing only 5 levels going forward. Who knows, I may be wrong. Maybe the redoing of the old world took away from the 80+ game, but I believe the 5 level expansion is the way going forward. Even the PvP BG levels were adjusted by 5 level brackets.
