I have the whole week off, so we will be going to pick up our pre-order CE editions at the local Game Stop on Monday night, just because we've never been able to do an in-store launch event before.

Yes, I scheduled the week off to play a game. Any co-workers that laugh about that, are just jealous they didn't think of it first, and they have to cover for me while I'm out. I also scheduled the last 2 weeks of December off. I won't be playing non-stop, but I will finally get enough time to play a lot in the first month of an expansion.

Is it lame that I took vacation days off to play a game? Well, I get more time off than I can use each year due to project schedules usually, and last year I lost a week at the end of the year (we can only roll over a certain amount into the next year, and I had not been able to take vacation all year). This year, taking 3 weeks off in December means I don't lose any vacation days due to rollover. So really, it would be lame NOT to take the time off. My wife doesn't get nearly as much and only has a bit of time she can use in December, so it's not like we can go anywhere. I could be really lame and just do real life "dailies ("honey do" things from the job jar). Those will always be available, though. The expansion is only new once

I will be in a hotel this week and next week for job training and then I will likely have 4-5 12 hour days at work before christmas.

Only the weekend cataclysm for me, so I guess I'm going to be leveling alts and then I'll catch up after the new year, lol.

Blizzard should respect retail workers more in their release dates. Or at least for those of us who get promoted at a weird time.

What could possibly be going on this time of year that would pull you away from WoW?! ~_^

I didn't have off for WoW's initial release and didn't for the last two, but I haven't had a scheduled day off in a while, so I took Tuesday off only. I will be doing some work from home (remotely) until my CE arrives from Amazon.

i just took yesterday off. surprisingly enough people at work knew that was the day cata was coming out. some others took off too. its weird how so many people that i interact with daily actually play WoW too, and i never knew it. i am used to the olden days of gaming where no one had heard of games like daoc, etc.

for me i didn't see a point taking more than a day off since i can't sit in front of my pc all day nonstop anyways. wrists would start to hurt

I actually had to burn 7 days of "holiday" time or lose them, and I had planned on taking off these days sometime around the first part of December. Strictly coincidence. But, no, I'm not spending that time playing WoW trying to race my way to 85 either. I hit lvl 81 the other night, about 80% there to 82 after doing more questing again last night.

So, yeah, I took some days off, but they won't be spent just playing WoW -- still have some Christmas stuff to do, such as helping the family decorate, baking (wife is working this week), etc.
