Yes, I scheduled the week off to play a game. Any co-workers that laugh about that, are just jealous they didn't think of it first, and they have to cover for me while I'm out. I also scheduled the last 2 weeks of December off. I won't be playing non-stop, but I will finally get enough time to play a lot in the first month of an expansion.
Is it lame that I took vacation days off to play a game? Well, I get more time off than I can use each year due to project schedules usually, and last year I lost a week at the end of the year (we can only roll over a certain amount into the next year, and I had not been able to take vacation all year). This year, taking 3 weeks off in December means I don't lose any vacation days due to rollover. So really, it would be lame NOT to take the time off. My wife doesn't get nearly as much and only has a bit of time she can use in December, so it's not like we can go anywhere. I could be really lame and just do real life "dailies ("honey do" things from the job jar). Those will always be available, though. The expansion is only new once

Or at least for those of us who get promoted at a weird time.
