i played since closed beta . i stopped after my deathknight and mage turned 80. i was going to buy a digital download of Cataclysm but my accounts need banned . strange i have not logged in for about 8 months .
i never did get an authentication device could this be why my account banned . never got any letter saying my account was banned . im going though the recovery steps now.
has blizzard closed accounts for not having a authenticator ?

No they did not ban accounts for not using the authenticator. Sounds like a hack job. Did you check armory to see last log in date?

unless the dates are wrong someone has been on my account even with it being unsubscribed ... not sure how my mage was logged in on 11-30-2010 wasn't me my DK was logged in the same day

Your account was compromised, probably before you unsubbed.
Hackers do not want to fight you in real time, so once you get a keylogger, they will usually wait until you aren't logging in to "attack".
They resub your account, attach their own authenticator, steal everything possible, then use your account for mining, spamming, or moving gold.
So, you try to come back, and are banned. It makes perfect sense that someone was on your account during your "unsub"..

makes sense now...i wonder why i see soo many lvl 60+ toons naked and running back and forth to the bank. duh!

i can understand that i dont think i had a logger but knows . my account info ( personal info email etc ) was unchanged wouldn't i get an email letting me know i requested a password change ?
ive contacted blizzard reset my password but it still says banned i guess its a wait and see thing i dont really want to start over but if i have to its no biggie
i contacted my old guild and asked of any of my toons was logged in and they are checking to see for me

Well, if you haven't logged in for 8 months, there wasn't really a reason to change your info.
As far as thinking you don't have a keylogger, I am copying info from an older post this year (August)...

how long is the wait normally to fined out info about why the account was banned i sent the email like 4 or 5 hours ago
