Cata was not made for a good ride to 85, it was made for a new 1-60 experience and new end game instances.....

Well leveling was never hard IMO. However I've ran the first two new dungeons. I wouldn't call them easy.

On that, I thought we were supposed to use CC in these instances. I have done the first 4 instances and have yet needed to use CC. As a pally tank I still just grab them up and instead of just aoeing them all down, theres just a few mobs we have to focus down first. Most instances are still done in <20 minutes once you figure them out.

You are doing the tank/spank dungeons, not the heroic versions that will require heavy CC.

The 1-60 has never been part of and never will be part of the Cataclysm expansion. The only way that logic works is if the Cataclysm box sales paid for the development of content that's available to everyone. If that's the case, there's a larger problem here.

I disagree entirely. The entire notion behind the expansion, a worldwide Cataclysm, is premised on the idea of the existing lands being fundamentally altered. While it is true that everyone can experience the 1-60 content without purchasing Cataclysm, it is also true that the development that changed the world as we know it was inspired by the Cataclysm. Many people will probably argue as well that the overall content of the 80-85 levelling experience is simply lacking compared by WotLK, and it is fairly safe to assume that some of the sales of Cataclysm went to pay for the 1-60 'free' content.

Im sure that the first few months of cata crowd control will be used in the 85 dungeons. A few months later with an update patch or two, we're back with wotlk AE feast. I know it will happen, the question is when.

Sprawl has a point. Also keep in mind that most people doing these dungeons with ease are coming in with raiding gear. This won't be the case for noobs leveling up. If you go from questing Northrends greens and try to do these opening dungeons with out CC you will not complete it.

I had the expirience of doing these dungeons in Cata greens as a healer. I'm a fresh 80, never raided with him, my guildies took me through the first two dungeons.

I know for a fact that if they were not all geared out and good players I would have had a real tough time healing through that dungeon. As it was we still had a few deaths. Now we also were doing them for the first time so figuring out the fights as we go but still.

I would recommend any fresh 80 group going into these dungeons to use CC.
