I'm a VN man myself... been coming here since Asheron's Call, and then again in DAoC. Mainly because back when I was playing those games, they didn't have their own forums. Though I think AC has their own now...

Anyway, WoW's the first MMO I've played with their own forums. By and large, there are many, many more players posting to Blizzard's boards than here. This probably means there's more information to be gathered there, but there's also a lot more crap to sift through.

Why do you guys post/discuss WoW here instead of there? Is it out of habit from using these boards for other games, like me? Is it deeper than that, is there more maturity here? Or is there just less crap to sift through purely due to the smaller volume of posts here?

If I started playing again, which I'm getting that itch... I'd probably find myself on the Blizzard forums more just because I'm usually after class specific information, but I'm just wondering what you active players think about the differences between the two forums and, basically, why you're here at all.

Thx.

This is much more like a community. Many of the people here have been here for 10 years or more. We trust their opinions (most of the time).

With a few asshats thrown in. Though at times their antics add a certain flavor to the boards that would be missed if gone....

Id say the official forums is the opposite. Mostly asshats with a few community types thrown in...

I know most of the people here and the discussions are more personal.

Being the Boards Adminstrator doesn't really matter much.

I'm here because Mithan keeps me chained to the wall and threatens to not feed me if I act up.

The added bonus is that if you flip out and go crazy when you can't the truth on the differences between rogues and warriors, the forum account is not tied to your WoW account.

The ratio of asshats to trolls to sincere posters is pretty much the same here or on the Blizzard forums.

The bonus here is that I hate so many more of you on a personal level than I hate the fleshy headed mutants on the Bliz forums.

I like the personal touch.

If ignorance were painful, half the posters here would be on morphine drips.
Everyone playing WoW knows everything about playing two classes: 1) their own and 2) Hunters
