Definitely don't like it as much as Cata. Zones seem too forced and tight in space. Did all of Vash, but as I was leveling my druid that was pretty easy. Deepholm already has me bored so hopefully a real outdoor zone will spice things up. Won't even queue for the new runs, figure let the second tier roll around then bother with it, get the alts to 85

My only concern is that it took me a pretty long time to truly revile the WOTLK dungeons, and I'm already getting kind of bored of the Cata ones. I can't put my finger on why.
Might be because they are too long, too slow, and too boring and just barely moderately rewarding. Gone are the days when I would queue up for a dungeon if I wanted to have a quick bit of fun. Unless I have 2+ hours to sit there it's not even worth queueing. At least for me they just aren't any fun. This is still a game right? Do we still want to have fun?

Too true. Cata dungeons "challenging"? Hardly. Fighting your characters gimpiness? Challenging.

The VNboards are so much fun! Its like my own personal train wreck going 24/7
and noone is actually getting hurt which takes away the guilt of watching.

The new dungeons harken me back to the first molten core runs, and then the 50th molten core runs.....
challenging to figure out the first time.... then boring as all hell trying to figure out why the trash mobs are so overpowered to the group.

Its been good. Spent a level or so in each of the new high level zones getting to 85. Have done all the new dungeons on regular mode a number of times and tossed all hard earned ICC armor for greens and blues.
Spent a lot of time and gold getting LW up but still have a few points to go.
I still see a lot of things to do. I'm starting to see a few epics along with associated gemming and enchants etc. to fine tune. That will take some time.
I've started doing a few heroic mode dungeons and they are a challenge and its going to take a while to get them down I think.
I see a least a couple of months of "things to do" with the expansion just as it is. By then Bliz will be opening new dungeons and such that keep people busy for the comming year.

I easily got one 80 to 85 in a week, made a lot of gold, bought my 310% finally during that week.
I have no desire to level any of my alts to 85 right now, maybe next year, it only takes a week.
As for the zones, I like the look of them, but the quests all felt like dailies or something. In WotLK they put Arthas/LK right into some of the quests, he'd come out in his fat suit, point his sword, shake his fist and make a few speeches, putting down his minions I was about to embarrass.
It was cool to see Arthas in some of the ghostly flashbacks as well. Wrathgate was cool and interesting.
I think I saw Deathwing once, maybe twice during my 80-85 adventure. I dunno, just seems kinda half-arsed to me.
I will say this, it feels good to back back in the home cities and Azeroth in general, as well as being able to fly most everywhere.

I played WoW from August 2006 to July 2010. I quit in July because of the RealID dustup, lack of interest in the expansion
and the overall feeling the game had become a job. I have 7 level 80 characters with 3 main ones: pally tank, resto shaman,
dps DK. I would do the LFD everyday on each main character in addition to fishing, cooking, alchemy and JC dailies. Every day without
fail (I think my shaman alone has 50+ heroic VH runs).
I saw that they had the 10 day trial, I have two weeks off of work and figured "what the hell", so I signed back up.
I'm on day 2 of the trial.
I like:
Gilneas starting area
Graphics – Stormwind, Uldum, maps are nice and detailed now
Music – old and new mixed in
Guild levels/talents/buy specific guild items
Do not like:
Talent system
Removal of portals
UI in general (too flashy)
Vashj'ir, the underwater area – enemies attacking x,y,z instead of x,y in addition to the gankers
Scripted events (a few are OK, but it seems there's a lot in this expansion)
I'm leveling a worgen hunter right now and it's fun to see the changes in the old zones with the new quests
and landscape. My goal is to get to 60 before the trial runs out (should be easy) and then go back
to my many games I have loaded up in Steam. Overall, I think this expansion leaves a bit to be desired in
terms of content for high level characters.
Should be interesting to see what they come up with for the next expansion in 2012.

consensus? Good for a few months of fun? Seems like the grind to 85 is relatively quick but how are the other grinds (rep, honor, gear, pvp titles, etc)?
The 'grind' to 85?
I'm not doing anything, no will I, that I consider to be a 'grind'. I play for fun and enjoyment. That doesn't mean everything I do in the game is lights out fun, but when something becomes a grind - I don't do it.
Going from 80 to 85 shouldn't be a grind, unless you are somehow doing it wrong. Maybe you mean 1 to 85?
Agree with this post
Anyone who considers a fun game a grind should have quit ages ago

I think some people have forgot the meaning of a grind.

I finally got one of my horde to 85 and I think the trip was pretty nice. I did get a little tired of the Indiana Jones quests, and kept wondering if they had to pay Steven Spielberg for lifting so much of his stuff.
I don't really care for some of the class changes.
I think the biggest problem for me is leveling up other toons you are going to see almost exactly the same quests (horde or alliance) the second, third ... every time you do them. At least in Wraith the horde and alliance first zones of the expansion were a little more separated in quest lines. Here, almost everybody is doing the same quests for the same guys.
And the phasing ... gets old.
Another thing I have noticed is the big difference between leveling a class with heals as compared to a class without. With my paladin there was almost no down time ever. Heal a little after this fight or that. With my death knight, there are lots of just normal battles with basic mobs that leave you eating or first-aiding after the fight.

I loved Cataclysm 80-85. It went by in a day but it was a good time getting there. I have now just been maxing reps and getting the purple tank gear and enchants. The only rep I need now is in Uldum to get my purple bracer. We went as a guild and got the PVP boss in TB. We poked @ Magmaw early last week but needed more gear - the strategy/coordination were good just needed more damage going out.
