Here's a tip, drain our mana pool. It takes a lot of mana to keep us alive and DPS at the same time. Once we start getting low, we can either try to stay alive or DPS, not both.

are you talking about pvp or pve? the discussion seems to be about pvp.. if you're having problems in pvp you're doing it wrong.. literally.


you can't just cheap shot and win anymore you will probably get 1/3-1/2 a persons health if you're well geared though. can't kill a healer? you won't win all the time and no one does (well.... priests might... not sure about them honestly)


things to look at


1. spec - are you specced properly. do you have the proper talents needed for pvp. if you are pvping in a pve spec of coarse you're gonna lose.


2. gear - you can't win without the best gear, especially when it comes to rogue weapons.


3. strat - are you using the best strategy for the opponent you are facing? do you kick/silence, use blind, etc. etc. to beat people? or are you cheap shot attack attack kidney shot attack attack and that's your bag of tricks for pvp? the old style doesn't work anymore they didn't think that wotlk 1-2 shot everyone for every class was the best way to do things so they changed stuff. if you aren't being smart about the way you are playing you will fail.

yes, im talking about PvP.

I do not claim to be a very "skilled" player, nor i have the best gear atm. I dont want to WTFPWN everyone no matter what class, spec, gear whatever.
Gear itself is not the whole reason, at this point there should be tons of toons out with the same level of gear and of course i use a PvP spec an wear all blues and 4 gladi pieces....

I just noticed i have it A L O T harder not to say its impossible now for me to kill anyone 1v1 unless hes is significantly worser in playing as i am.

And i had my shares of good fights before cata went live and i think the reason why i have a hard time now ist the inflated HP along with the fact that rogues damage dont not scale at all.

I admit, there will be always outstanding rogue players who still win more than lose but the gaming world holds more than those extra skilled peeps

other classes have a much easier way these days. rogue certainly is not a good PvP class atm.
