I'm a mage and don't need them--I need to go 5 minutes without being asked for a port and getting told I am the devil for not leaving my 40 min heroic queue to port them. Seriously, give me some peace and just put these back in. People will still use Org and SW for the Cata portals and dailies.

That is not the vision we really have for the game. We want travel to mean something. You might have been used to facerolling portals in Wrath, but we are trying to get back some of the traditional challenge vanilla WoW used to have. Create a mage at your own risk.

I've prettymuch stopped playing my mage for this reason. Can't have a moments peace anymore due to people asking for ports if I'm in a city longer than 5 seconds with him.

Exactly. Also, obligatory "if you don't love porting everyone around or getting yelled at you need to L2P and you are a fail player".
I remember when the word "vision" became a mantra for a game long ago and how the more they said it the faster their game died. *cough*EQ*cough*

This brings back joyful/painful memories in DAOC when you played a class that could rez people, you always went /anon.
"Hi, could you please run halfway across the zone to rez my group at the skelly brige?"
Of course in that game, it had community so you didnt mind helping a friend out. But sometimes it was just a pain.
