Make this a free, open PvP zone. Whoever controls 2 of the 3 bases at any one time holds the zone and has access to Baradin Hold and the dailies. Perhaps allow a short window (5-15 min) per base as control flips.

Eliminate all caps on population per side, and the timer. This is a PvP zone at all times.

Increase honour gains for PvP kills by 50-100% and any PvP death in Tol Barad proper puts in you on the other island in your camp. In this way, a death puts you OUT of the battle for a minute or two, and allows for actual VICTORIES when teams of the enemy are killed.

Perhaps add honour or conquest gains for capturing or defending a base. Perhaps switch to a flag mechanic for bases (ala Arathi basin) instead of population based.

It's quite obvious why that idea would be a complete failure. Nobody would ever have the time to complete the dailies, and even less to kill the dungeon boss(es). Not to mention the highest population side would totally dominate the place with zero chances for the other side to ever get it.
We don't need a shitty DAoC-like unbalanced crap zone. TB is already crappy enough, it doesn't need to be made worse, but better.

yeah it would just switch too fast, if people even bothered to do it in that kind of system. not to mention there would be too much lag from all the people if there are no population caps. i agree tol barad right now is stupid, but i think this would be worse

I want some unrestrained, open world PvP where who controlsl what, affects the game.


Period. I can not believe WoW does not have this yet. Why oh why?

FWIW if you are alliance on deathwing server and I see you in Tol Barad or Tol Barad Pennisula, you will die. Unless of course you are a frost mage. In which case you will only die 25% of the time


Those zones are as close as I can find to world pvp. Kill people while they quest... boo. I at least toss my thrown weapon at them a couple times so they have time to finish their kill and heal a little first.

I really like this idea but would add a few tweaks / caveats:

1) People inside BH don't get kicked out once they get in. If they hold 2 towers to unlock it, and get it, they can keep the Raid ID and finish their raid.

2) Triple the gold for the dailies, so while they are extremely dangerous, risk vs. reward.

Then TB just might be real world PvP and actually incredibly fun.

WoW's server/world PvP will always be a joke because Blizzard never made any effort to ensure that the active faction populations were relatively even.

You describe the original Wintergrasp with its problems and server lag it caused.
