I see. Thought it might work that way, thanks for confirming.

If you press the Alt button after killing a bunch of mobs in Diablo 2 you will see all of the loot in the immediate vicinity, so I guess that is close to the same thing...

not really, the corpses you can loot sparkle, like WoW, it's just when you right click one of them to loot it,it loots all of "your" corpses in the immediate area,a nd put thems all into one loot window.

Well obviously it's not exactly the same, but the OP asked if any other games do this, and I think D2 is a fair comparison. Just because the corpses don't sparkle and the loot isn't shown in a window? The objects sparkle, and the loot all shows up on your screen when you press Alt, they're just not in a little pop-up window.

EDIT: Of course, it's not a traditional active MMO either, but I still stand by the comparison! There is no autoloot to combine it with though, sadly.

If I am looting a pull, and the loot begins to disapear before Ive looted everything... then maybe they should make a change to the whole clicking to loot is fun game.

my hands are pretty much worthless from gaming (in excess of 25 years), so anytime you can eliminate useless click click clicking... Im all for it.

everything else in this game plays like a watered down slideshow, so why cant the looting?

aoe looting sounds nice but more importantly i just want to bind a key to target and pick up loot like in daoc. in WoW the mouse clicking and the "lag" before the items actually loot plus all the stupid pop up windows about binding stuff (yes i want to loot the item even if it binds....what else will i do just let it rot in the corpse?) and the fact that autoloot doesn't work half the time pisses me off to no end. even the loot a rang sucks since u need to click the ground where you want to throw it.

too much work just to pick up loot. its more efficient to just let the loot rot in the ground and make money through other means at lower levels.

I hear what you're saying, but that sounds more like a value proposition problem rather than a game system problem i.e. your time > whatever the sell cost of the items you could pick up. Isn't Blizzard upping the value of the Archeology trash items for this very reason?

Having said all that, aoe looting via a window that aggregates all your available loot in the area does sound pretty sweet.

The worst is when you are like me, and you don't want to take all the loot, but there are like 5 corpses stacked on each other. How do you know if you've looted them all without taking it all?

yeah the value of items is pretty low at lower levels when you have a max level main. but even so i think a looting system that does not require so much effort/time on the user makes sense in a game full of conveniences like dual-talents and portals all over the place and such.
