Regardless, don't buy a used system. It's a dumb move. If you can't afford the few extra for a new one, you shouldn't be spending your money on this frivolous crap anyway.

Actually I have read quite a bit on the subject matter.

From what I have read people are getting banned from the PSN (console ban) which is more than just the Black Ops servers. Activision is also banning people from Bops on top of that. Jailbreaking a PS3 does more than let you mess with CoD servers.

Waninkoko's V1 of his CFW bricked PS3's because it was accessing the lv2, mainly happened on fat PS3's (was tested only on slims, fats have more memory) but also if people didn't go back to the 3.55 OFW on the slims/fats it would happen. A very unstable release. A couple of days ago Wanin brought out a super stable V2 of his CFW, with Hermes PL3 included. Also, if updating to 3.56 from a CFW it has a very high chance of bricking.

Kmeaw came out with a CFW (really a HEN, but with the backup managers loading the l2fix it doesn't matter). There's another fella out there with a firmware similar to Kmeaw but not many people use it

And still as of yet NO ONE has gotten a ban from the PS3 servers for CFW, not a one, look around and you'll find out the only people saying it are complete liars or were cheating on Black Ops and got the kick. Sony can't detect if you're on a CFW, they even stated that in their case against geohot. The retards on the Black Ops servers are cheating, doesn't take much to see when someone is floating through a wall among other crap.

If you buy a PS3, or ANY console second hand without seeing it working you are plain and simple are retard. I've seen too many people selling RROD 360's and PS3 YLOD. Most 360 scam sales use the hairdryer fix (heat it up alot, will work for a few minutes, enough to sell).

Show me a certifiable link where someone got banned by Sony on their console, until then go troll somewhere else.

I wouldn't buy a new ps3, much less a used one. By all means, continue giving out information without actual proof on the matter. It's worked so well for you in the past.
