Y'know if someone is being a jerk to me I never let it get far enough to let him/her make a 'real life threat'. It's easy enough to ignore or switch to an alt for a while. I guess I'm lucky enough to never have had a serious harasser in any game I've played.

um ok, is this a new feature of the hard dungeons in Cat? People are threatening people in real life now when the PUG fails?
If its really become that much of a problme they have to say something, i think this might be an indication of a bigger issue that your stressing people out with a video game they are throwing out death threats!

I know this 'threats' button has been in game for a good long while before Real ID. I think Blizzard just wants to remind people that it's there.

Hostility seems to be on the rise, people are frustrated with the game, frustrated with heroics, fighting each other over daily quest stuff,(especially in Tol Barad)etc... In short due to the games design/direction players are becoming aggressive, thuggish, greedy, rude pigs to cope.
I know I have been playing since pre-bc and I rarely have ever lost my temper, but lately I have found myself snapping at people, there is definitely a new climate in WoW.

LOL! Real life threats in WoW make me laugh hard. If someone gives me attitude in-game I just tell them to shut the f**k up and if they decide not to I'll start making fun of them in whatever public channel I'm able to at the moment. While this is going on I'm telling my friends in Vent to get into the channel I'm in and give the person hell too. It's quite effective.
