Tol Barad


* Attacking forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control 2 keeps.

* Defending forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control all 3 keeps.


the above is from the notes.

Now my question is.. if you have all 3 keeps.. why would you need to capture them 200% faster?

Isn't there like a grey area during the capture transition? I guess this would help the defender "keep" a tower much easier if an attacker had started the capture process but then got killed/left/ect.


*NOTE* I have not done the pvp in Tol Barad, so I might be talking out my rear

To fill that little tiny 15% of the bar for your faction quicker.

Look at it like this:

While it's not a big change in general, it still impacts it. With you owning all 3 at 200%, it means that the opposing faction is going to have more trouble capping the first/ new one. Since the cap timer is based on the # of people in the area, the attackers will need more to take one from you with a bonus to your defensive cap speed.

Example: You will now need 15 people attacking, what it use to take 5 people to cap in the same time frame. It's essentially a buff for owning it up and being able to hold three bases as is.

I don't see how that would be much if any help to defense. it's just a short matter of time until lose a base. other than first 60 secs of fight. aren't going to hold 3 bases.

They didnt need to buff the Defending faction in TB to begin with. They should have added the attacker bonus and left it at that.

Why? Then theres no point in defending without the buff, so it will just switch hands every time the battle is open. This would be against what Blizzard wanted. It's not a place meant to be switched every single time.

Also a guildy just mentioned that the faction portions of the bar take 2/5ths of it per, with 1/5th being the gray area. As opposed to the old bar being 3/5ths gray.

Well they definitely botched it this time around. It changes hands every time the battle is currently going, which is against the entire philosophy behind the blog post they made on the changes.

This seems to be a normal occurrence with Cata.
