Most of the mechanics are very similar, if not downright the same. If you run the regulars, you can try and ask the group how this fight has changed from the normal version. After weeding through the "fail" and "umadbro" replies you may just very well find a person that will explain things. After all, it takes more of a man to tell you how it is then talk down to you.

I've had many tanks bail on a PUG while recently geared healer. I will tell it like it is. I also have an "addon" that puts it all on the line when 3 or more guild members are present.

In all reality, I should not have to spam Gheal on trash. The tanks really need to know what needs to die first and what needs to be killed. For example, if you pull anymore than 1 fire guy in H Lost City (just right before the croc boss) or the few trash packs in H. HoO. Dps also needs to know what needs to be interrupted. Sometimes a healer cannot heal through 15-30k ticking channeled spells.

I've also geared up my tank first and know all these things through experience. And I will glady share that experience with you. You just have to prove to me you have more substance then "fail healer". I know heroics aren't end game, however, at this point I have 5 characters who are raid ready and run heroics daily for the valor points.

Personally I think Blizz forgot about the one major mechanic in the game...People.
Not everyone plays the same way. Not everyone is at the same level in how they play.
Not everyone has the exact same gear to be on equal footing as others.

I admit I am not, and will not, be on a competitive level like many folks out there. I am almost 50 and I play to have fun, not count scores and numbers or percentages. But Blizz would have us all on the same level with exactly the same gear is what they seem to be aiming for. Where is the diversity in that? Where is the fun in that?
No, we are tasked to grind away until we have the same gear, same gems, same weapons, same spell rotations and are expected to hit all of our keys at exactly the same time each and every fight in order to win......

This has pretty much been WoW's endgame since it started . .

It was always perfectly clear that the problem some people are having with heroics is due to a lack of basic competence, and that a small addition to damage and healing and hit points wasn't going to help them. You don't need to be able to stand in the fire for 15% longer to get a kill, you need to not stand in the fire.

Sadly for those people, you can't use cheat codes to bypass the boss or become invincible like they are doing in their console or solo games

This is true. However if you go to WoWhead you will find that they list the heroic mechanics/and abilities for the bosses. Which I do read.

Except Pre-BC where only a very very small segment of the player population ever got a full set top tier, most were in lower tiers thus more diverse.

True, but there were even fewer spells/abilities, enchants, viable specs/classes and there were no gems whatsoever.

it should make you pass a gear audit like on the armory site to let you into dungeon finder groups....like you have to be enchanted/gemmed and actual stats instead of just manipulated gear score. that would help a lot.
