Some guilds advance very quickly while others take their time. Some guilds aren't very interested in guild perks while others QQ that they can't get perks fast enough. Some guilds chomp at the bit and hit the xp cap every morning! Other guilds will hit the cap only on the weekends. Where does your guild fit in? Is your guild the slow and steady type? Or are you up there at the top just waiting for the xp reset? How important are guild perks to you and your guild? What level is your guild currently at? Do you like the guild advancement system? Why or why not?

It's purely a guild numbers game. The more people you have the faster guild xp will build up. It's possible for small guilds to cap it out each day but they have to put in a lot more hours per person.

The guild advancement system as it stands is pretty terrible.

It encourages large guilds by rewarding them in every aspect possible. It punishes small guilds by making these perks unavailable to small guild members who choose to stay in their small guild.

Worst of all it makes it extremely difficult for guilds to "cross" over even if they want to because now when people look to join guilds the first thing they list is "Guild must be level XX".

No reason at all for this to even exist this way. Guilds should all progress at the same rate because the rewards reward the individual character more than anything else.

it doesnt really reward level 85 guild hoppers as far as the unique perks go, they still have to have a specific rep status within the guild in order to use/wear them (for some of the perks)

don't you lose the Guild BOAs if you hop out?

I was in a guild that got through the first two levels within a week or so after launch and having less than 80 members (inclding alts.)

After being with the guild a month I saw that the acivity level was miniscule and they made no effort to advertise. I went shopping around and found another guild while questing in Twilight Highlands. After an 'interview' process we both agreed I would be a good fit. To my surprise it's a guild with 350 members (20+active people) and they are level 15 (65% to 16) so it was s nice surprise indeed.

I did not ask the interviewer the level of the guild, I was only concerned with the activity level of the guild. In fact when guilds advertise on my server they never state level, only that they have a tab, and how much GB space they have.

*As far as the system goes? The perks are good for 85's who are repping with factions and consume potions and get the 10% speed buff. I almost forgot about the BOAs now I'm getting really psyched since I have so many below 80.

My guild serves one purpose...

guild bank tabs.

If there were a way to have a gbank w/o the "g"..I would disband it tomorrow..

Edit: I must disagree with the title...I could care less about a "Logo".

edit: And to expand on this. I have these friends that are part of the largest raiding guild on our server (horde side) and they are always trying to get me to 'apply'. They just can't seem to understand that I don't want to join a large guild and I am not interested in raiding. And then they say, "Well, you could join and not be part of the core raiding groups then"

I LOVE my small guild. I would never leave for the larger guilds. It's just sad that they get all the rewards.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore
/north /north *You encounter an [Avatar of the god Set]!*
/cast sheild *sheild spell unavailable*
/csat shield *csat: unknown command*
*[Avatar of Set] beheads [Peasant]*

Ferry,

How dare you not conform to GC's "vision" of everyone belonging to a raiding guild, and actively raiding!!!!

The nerve of some people!! As if you could possibly have fun or enjoy WOW any other way BUT the way GC intends you to do so!!!

/scoff!!!

Wait a minute size of guild does not dictate 'raiding guild'.

Don't get me wrong I loved my small guild as well. But having only 3 actual active (if that) people in it was not going to advnace it anytime soon. When you say small guild what size are we actually talking about?
