There are some easy bosses and some hard bosses in Cataclsym's heroics. Which ones do you think are the hardest and which ones do you think are the easiest? Why do you think so? What would your top ten hardest heroic bosses list look like?

The Top Ten is a contest run by WoW Vault with content chosen for the list from among the replies! Whichever reply gets chosen as #1 will receive 2 weeks if IGN Insider VIP!

Top TEN? Wow...

Well... I supposed we only talk about 5 man heroics, and not raids.

1) Vanessa Van Cleef. I know, I know, it's not that hard, yet people still seem to always screw up the "nightmare" part in a way or another.
2) No idea... all others are dead easy, really. All only require to "not stand in the fire". Stonecore bosses may be a bit harder, along maybe with some in Grim Batol, like the last one which requires decent DPS and not scrubs who barely manage to pull out 3k DPS at level 85, something a naked level 80 can do...

The ones that I have seen cause grief, in no particular order:

Beauty (if you don't have enough CC)
Throngus (the shield phase)
Erudax
Vanessa VanCleef (the nightmare phase, not the actual fight)
Corborus
Ozruk
Altairus (lot of people don't understand the wind)
Lady Naz'jar (lots of ways to screw that fight up)

I don't want to assert that any or all of them are "hard", just that things can go horribly wrong on them, and I have seen it happen, more than once.

Really?
How the hell are people managing to screw up that one?

I have seen it where he gets in a position as to where you are either eating the shield aoe or the stuff on the ground is damaging (this is due to bad positioning by the tank prior to throngus's weapon switch)

While not exactly hard, any boss fight that requires your dps to do something other then damage and/or not stand in the fire will most often result in repeat efforts more then the others. Sadly, for some individuals this can mean even just following a basic kill order on phased adds during the fight. The one fight I most consistently see screwed up in 5 man heroics is Corla in Blackrock Caverns. Inability to watch the evolution beam counter and then inability to change focus to the resulting evolved zealot who will be gravity striking the tank into oblivion. Basically, you either get this right and end the fight with 100% health and a healer who was in danger of falling asleep, or you wipe within seconds after the 1st evolved pops up before you've even made a dent in her HP. Although lots of times I don't want to blame the individuals- as many of these timed interrupt or movement effects in WoW are very latency intolerant.

However, as a general rule I've found the less responsibility the dps has the happier I am quite honestly. For people who do not tank regularly, I am sure the opposite is true, since many fights require the tank to move more or less constantly and know the script ahead of time, which is sure to lead to frustration for random groups with newer tanks trying to learn the dance.

Easiest fight is pretty subjective, probably final "boss" of Throne of Tides? Not sure how you could possibly wipe on that, but I am sure it has been done.

The hardest heroic boss for me as a holy paladin is Lord Godfrey. That curse hits insanely hard and with a 1 second cast time is pretty difficult to interrupt. So much for them making all the major debuffs magic so that every healer can handle all the fights equally.

Mostly refering pre-nerf boss. Post-nerf, none of these bosses are really that hard anymore.

Stonecore

1. Corborus -- People moving too slowly to avoid the dive, and lack of good range AOE to kill the crystal fast enough. On the first 2 weeks of Cata, it is not uncommon to swap through 8-9 players before finally killing it (or sometime never)

2. Orzuk -- I called it a Tank graduation fight. Our guild still uses this encounter to trial our newly recruit tank -- good for testing their footwork.

3. High Priest Azil -- This is usually a very easy fight, except when you have a weird group with no good interrupt on the Life Grip. The grip will hold the tank up the air for a long period of time, and then ending the grip with a throw that does large chunk of damage.

Grim Batol

1. General Umbrise -- This is hard mostly because bunch of people dying from Blitz

2. Dragha Shadowburner - Average PUG just can't handle the fire elemental and dodge the shadow breathe.

3. Erudax -- This can be hard when the group doesn't have sufficient DPS to bring down the adds [sometime due to weird group setup where no one can slow down the add]

Vortex Pinacle

1. Altairus - Pre-nerf, the wind can chain bounce you everywhere. Healers that can''t adjust their position to get haste buff have great difficult keeping the group up too.

Hmm, can't really count to 10 difficult one lol
