Not true. A top raiding guild requires much, much, much more information about an applicant than that tool can provide.
Indeed, I did not mean to make it seem that way. My 'top rankings' comment was directed more towards pvp guilds, though my knowledge in that area is limited.
I've done my fair share of raid leading and it's difficult even in a casual guild going at a casual pace. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for the top guns that are clearing content first. But the job is made easier the more info you have about your raiders. So I absolutely agree with you.

IMO this is/was a waste of dev effort - it'll get used about as much as the guild recruiting channel and won't cure the spam.

Hey I use the guild recruiting channel every day, I still aint got a guild but that's not the point.

Probably right, but even if it were, I would NEVER join a guild that got its people that way.

Bad and useless feature.
Beside the fact that mature guilds will not even use this feature, this takes away key communication skills that players need to learn (applications to guilds, interviews, etc).
I hate how they're trying to make MMO's so simple and automated now.

I hate that they use the term "guild" for entities that amount to "achievement corporations" that do things such as requiring interviews and applications.
Call them corporations, and give the term "guild" back to close knit groups of friends who enjoy each others company..and could care less what the others bring to the table other than a great sense of companionship.

Might of been useful for Roleplayers looking for an RP guild. But of course, there's no RP Guild option, so there you have it.
