I freely admit I don't PvP often, and when I do, if it has to be BGs, I like pretty much any other BG besides AV. I feel pretty lost in AV most of the times. However, with this damn Children's week achievment, it looks like again this year I will be runninig multiple toons through trying to assualt a tower with my urchin (orphan). I'm havinig a real problem with this. Seems no matter how fast I mount up and try to make the mad dash for the closest tower, I am never the one to get the assualt credit. So, I am wondering if there are any good tips and tricks people can offer, so I can get this done? Is there a better choice than dashing for the first one, then failing to get that, trying to get to any others close by without dying a hundred miserable deaths being steamrolled by packs of 4-6 horde?

Hmm that can be tricky because of the timing.


One thing is if you get into the AV early enough before it starts, you can ask if anyone is doing a tower (like ask the nearest tower) and maybe mention you need the credit for it, might be others that have the same need and can band together.

I tried that last year, and was blasted by all of the "regulars" who get pissed to see the people joining BGs just for the achievments. People actually went out of their way to be jerks and prevent you from doing what you need, if you said something (or even had your orphan out). It didn't seem to matter to them that Blizzard is sort of forcing this ... not my choice to be sent into a BG if I want to finish these. So, I'm a bit reluctant to say much this time around. Will certainly try if nothing else is working... was hoping for some tidbits that I just wasn't aware of, to make it more doable.

This year you can respond back to them and say it's their fault for not going into a rated BG.

Yeah, OMG don't warn people!
My tip would be to try and rush all the way south to east or west tower. Don't stop until you get there as long as you know the route. You will eventually make it. And you don't have to kill the guards before you cap.

Yeah, I got mine(horde side) first try. Ran straight up to the main town and assaulted the southern bunker.

There was a cool ally player there recapping it too, so people could get the credit. Till someone killed 'em

Wow, that's a truly crappy quest. Glad I don't care about achievements. I'd stay mounted until the herd thinned out and jump the nearest tower after.

The WoW community at its finest, where you have to hide the fact that you are doing quests or achievements to avoid getting griefed

I had a heck of a time finding a group to do this with. Everyone in the bg's I was in seem to be trolls and was just there to mess everyone up that was working on the achieve.. I think about 10 bg's later-- I got it.
