this doesn't even out because tauren get their "paladin kodo" and dwarfs are still usign the horse and not a ram.
essentially, dwarfs and humans were the only ones who could be paladins (even more originally it was only humans) so they decided the newer races should have their own mount once they allowed tauren to be paladins by adding the kodo then also added the elephant, which i think are way cooler than the horse, and the BE paladins still get a horse only a different color scheme.
and yeah.. there's MORE than enough cat mounts in the game and they give alliance... ANOTHER one... then they give horde a SCORPION... there isn't another mount that is even remotely close to that. as alliance i won't use the guild rank 25 lion mount... it's just too similar to all the other mounts i have from the nightelfs.... but a scorpion? hell yes i'd use that it is completely original and looks like no other mount.
too bad they couldn't have come up with a better and more original design for a mount for alliance.
Forgot they made it so Tauren could be pallys now so didn't even think about checking that one
Would have been nice to have something a bit diff. A lion for alliance kinda makes sense with the stormwind standard being a golden lion on a blue background but like you said, night elf mounts were enough.

I'd say it's a small price to pay for having the better quest lines, starter zones and capital cities for the first 5 years of the game.

I'm still trying to figure this one out. How did Alliance have better quest lines, starter zones, and capital cities?
I know a lot of Alliance who are still in love with Undercity. It may have been a little harder to navigate, really comparable to IF during that time frame, but UC is FAR more interesting. Plus Sylvanas > Magni.
Quest lines? Really? Maybe in vanilla when Alliance sometimes had better quest rewards for certain classes, but they were all green, and Horde had better quest rewards for other certain specs than Alliance. See a theme here?
Then we come to starter zones... You can't be serious. As soon as Blood elves were introduced, the whole starter zone experience easily went to Horde. Right now it might be a bit more even, but the goblin starter zones are way better than the worgen zones. Goblin zones are fun, interesting, entertaining, and promote a sense of completeing the story. Worgen starting zones are "zomg the Forsaken are attacking us. Keep fighting them off for the next 3 hours while nothing really changes except for location."

Post count just means you spend too much time reading and not enough playing.

I don't understand.
When you play the happy, pretty, poofy faction, you get happy, pretty, poofy mounts. You want bad ass, you play Horde.
Can't have it both ways.

I didn't know that (I must say it's rare to see a high level char with a ground mount nowadays). I learned something, thanks

Welcome... I've not played my pally since it changed but a friend was leveling one up and commented on it. Suprised me enough I had to go check mine out and sure enough, ugly elekk.

Well, my paladin is Tauren (transfered to horde to have a high level horde char), but I don't really care since my alliance guild is rank 25, so I can use the badass scorpion even on horde side

Ladies and gentlemen (I use the terms loosely, of course), I give you the preceding as an example of how Blizzard is unwittingly fragmenting their own community. Unless, of course, they're doing this to weaken WoW's long-term draw in preparation for moving everyone to Titan where all these "community" issues are magically fixed per the long-standing and well-thought-out requests of dozens -- nay HUNDREDS -- on the forums. If that proves true, and Titan (or whatever it'll be called) does even better than WoW, then the joke's on the gaming public.
