This might work. An item that sells for 1,000 gold on AH is hard to pass up. Even honest people have a failures in judgement with that much to gain. When it is a 20g vender profit most will play it right. Sure, there are a lot of slime out there. I lost a top LK tanking sword to hunters four times. Never did get that sword for my tank. This will limit if not stop the abuse.

Meh, 1k gold is like 45 minutes of farming, tops. Being a douche is a life long dilemma.

This won't change anything, people will just need roll and vendor it.

I really hope you're wrong about this. It's just so pathetic to cheat people to get a few pieces of worthless virtual currency. Unfortunately, the WoW community does seem to prove cynical predictions like this right over and over again. Sad.

As long as one person gets an item, and the other 4 don't, someone will bitch, moan, and cry that "they" should have gotten it...for whatever reason...

This will never stop without a major overhaul to the loot system mentality of this game..

i think its a good change. but i think the idea of filtering items based on your current spec is dumb and will never happen. would contradict the whole idea of dual spec. i roll for offspec stuff all the time...the idea not to do that is just thought up by lootwhores. everyone in the group particpated up to that point so they should have the right to roll on anything that they want and can use...not what other people think they should use

Actually, I've *never* rolled for an item I can't directly use in the hopes of garnering some gold. I welcome a change where if you can't use it at all then you can't roll on it. Period.

I don't like this. For every dickhead rolling "need" on an item just to AH it, there might be 5-10 honestly players rolling "greed" on an item in the hopes of winning it and transferring it to an alt who might be able to use it either to wear or DE. Sure, some people run dungeons for the heck of it or to help friends/guildmates, but let's face it, most people are there for the lewtz. I don't think any change that results in even longer dungeon queue times is a good one.

Nice necro, btw.

I disagree with your assertion that most folks are in an instance for the loot. I think the last time I ran an instance and really cared about loot was in BC. In WotLK and forward, badge gear and crafted epics rendered most of the stuff that drops outside of heroics/raids a waste of energy to quibble over.

Meh, I dunno. I think the group you're speaking of applies mostly to people who are in strong guilds. People who are in weak/small guilds or who aren't guilded at all tend to be the most vocal about drops (at least in my experience). My frost mage is an example of this. My guild is tiny and has no crafters. I have little gold (level 70) so I started doing WOTLK dailies as soon as I could just to get geared quickly.
