There are plenty of options for skills, considering you won't be able to have all the skills you own available to you, and they've added runes that modify your skills to be completely different at times.

so it looks like they decided to use a modified version of the GW skill system. don't really see an issue with that, as i liked GW.

My friend thinks this is a good idea. He only has 1 finger, an IQ between 50 and 70, drools a lot and can't communicate in any known language. Basically he is Blizzard's target customer of choice.

And guild wars realized it was lame so they are offering vast customization in GW2. Some companies rise... others will fall.

My excitement diminishes every time i hear about design choices for D3. I think the best course of action might be to steer clear of this game too.

^^This

Between it sounding dumbed down, the required constant online connection even for single-player use, and the auction of items for real cash --- I think I'll save my $50-60 for something else.

Blizz continues to move in a direction that I just don't get, nor like...

lol...homogenization claims another victim. This is just getting sad. Kinda like that old uncle you really liked to go visit, sold off all his guns and toys and cool stuff, so all you get to do when you visit now is watch TV.

So basically, we're seeing some combination of:

conscious decision in D3/WoW to apply "B-Team" ease-of-maintenance (read: smaller dev resource requirements)

betting the farm on "Titan" or whatever it'll be called

don't care because 11 million wow subs plus all the residuals from merchandising funds everything with mad cash

"We have no flippin idea what we're doing but WoW is making so much money absolutely nobody here gives a damn anymore. PARTYTIME! *hic*
