I would think it would be easier to put skin on skeletons than change the lore of a particular race. Surely doable though.
They'd probably just color in the white fur with black and call it Mists of Bearia, starring the Bearren. Then it'll attract members of the Chinese gay Bear community, which I'm fairly certain doesn't exist.

From what I understand, China will allow the use of Pandas, but you cannot depict a Panda actually being harmed. Which makes me think even moreso that they wouldn't be a playable race in the slightest, though quests might be pretty dull if I don't see any cute pandas in danger. Or something.
Assuming its a WOW expansion. Sprawl's comment about a mobile game got me thinking.
There is no issue with playing or harming virtual pandas in China, its done even now in other games.
What Blizzard screwed up was putting them in Japanese Samurai armor, needless to say the Chinese don't like the Japanese all that much

Oooh, thanks, good to know. Also found this on wowhead by a poster:
"While depictions of violence against actual Pandas is illegal in China, violence against CGI humanoid Pandas is perfectly fine. In fact the movie Kung Fu Panda (which features a talking Panda getting the crap beaten out of him for most of the movie) was not only released in China without problems, but ended up being the highest grossing animated film of all time over there.
As long as Blizzard approaches Chinese culture with respect, there's no reason why Pandaren would run into legal trouble over there."

Sure it does Spooky. Most of what you hear about nowadays isn't really their culture, it's the communist bullcrap that took over their culture.

This. Unless you find pre-Mao stuff that isn't tainted by propaganda.

It's amusing that some, and not only the usual trolls but also usually intelligent posters, consider Cataclysm as a failure.
Most if not all businesses in the world, and not only MMORPGs, would be ready to sign a pact with Satan himself for such a failure.

Really Korrigan?
So, if I cut your income by 8.3% over 6 months, you wouldn't say anything was wrong, you would just say "Well, many 3rd world inhabitants would make a deal with Satan for this check, so it's all good"..
Coughcoughbullshit.
