As someone who enjoyed the single player aspects of the first two Diablo's, and never really got into the pvp (and scoffs at Bliz's e-sports), and hardly ever flies let alone plays video games on flights...
The only thing stopping me from buying it is news about whether it's actually good or not =)

My spider sense tells me that only about 1 in 5 posters that post on a WoW msg board that they have quit WoW have actually quit WoW.
Well, add a bunch more to that, because we have and the more we read out here, the lower the chances of coming back. Probably hit zero if they actually do add pandaroos. <straightface>
Voted quit and no interest in any other Blizzard product in the forseeable future. Although my son is enjoying SC2.

There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.
The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.

Unfortunately, the WoW message board is, though not as much anymore, the most active Board on VN here. It has slowed down considerably though since the days of Wrath, so that there says something as well.
I mean we actually had discussions about WoW around these parts, now its more about other games it seems at times.

Well that's 'nuff said for me too. No thanks. And yes just based on principle.

I don't really see much of a relationship between WoW and D3 except both being made by Bliz, since I view them as different types of games. But part of that, I guess, is because I have never played diablo online and never will.
I'm kind of perterbed with the state of WoW and some decisions with D3 I'm already taking exception to, like the potential AH and/or addition of cash-based transactions, and as with many PC developers these days I'd prefer to see an emphasis on creating fun games intead of seeing them come up with creative ways to milk players for cash.

The always online DRM-like seen odd to me, don't know if it'll be into the console version thought. I have trouble with the client is a thief approach type, that just seem unwise and bad business practice.
The micro-transaction... i wonder if it'll only allow to buy stuff already in-game or there will be exclusive? For me, really not interested into the micro transaction stuff.
I keep an eye for Diablo 3, but not sure i'll buy it and really not into my buy list for now. If i buy it, it'll be once a GotY edition is out and/or the game is at 30$ new.
Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3
Sad but true. Blizzard has fallen off the horse, had the ankle caught in the stirrups and been dragging behind for a long time now. So many bad decisions.

If what I hear is true about D3, then it is defintely a no go for me. Bites, but I'd rather save that 50-60 bucks.
do tell what the game breaker is, instead of being so aloof.
Dumbing down the game ( http://pc.ign.com/articles/118/1185753p1.html)
Required constant online connection even for single-player ( http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Diablo-PC-Gaming-action-rpg-battle.net-Robert-Bridenbecker,13187.html)
no modding, no LAN support, have to play on their servers, again, even for single-player
Real money auction house, aka, pay to win (so pvp will be a total joke) ( http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/2397-Diablo-3-Auction-House-Announced-Spend-and-Earn-Real-Life-Money)
Those are a few things so far that make this a no-go for me.

Sad but true. Blizzard has fallen off the horse, had the ankle caught in the stirrups and been dragging behind for a long time now. So many bad decisions.
Sadly, with the removal of talent trees, Torchlight 1 is a more involved game. Whoever is making decisions up there (BOBBY KOTICK I'M LOOKING AT YOU) needs to be flogged, IMO.
Scratch that. Ya know, it's about time Blizzard got stick-checked and opened the door for competitors that don't use the Narcissism v1.7 development model. I'll look forward to the next good game that isn't Blizzard. I had hopes for the Red Alert series but they went console/arcade mode and dumbed things down much like D3 is doing. /meh
