How do you avoid people in the game? |
Possibilities:
1. "one sec busy"
2. Make it your life mission to destroy them. Let them cause you distress, bottle that rage and fury up until it becomes a burning hot focus. Abandon your friends and family, alter your life so that you can devote all of your energy into becoming the vehicle of their destruction. Don't stop until everything they love is dead.
3. Relax and realize it's a game, there are people like this out there, and just go with it or do whatever man. Can I make a White Russian?

How do you politely say go away? Anyone ever have this problem? Do you put them on ignore? I've resorted to leaving my afk tag on... Am I mean? ;(
Stop responding or simply tell them they are being annoying with the constant tells and to cool it. I have friends that I don't want to stop being friends with but sometimes they go on this annoying chatty/needy trip and I have to tell them that. If telling them doesn't work then you don't want to be their friend and the ignore button is the best course.
I once had a 'friend' who would message me constantly and if I didn't respond in 30 seconds he'd say something along the lines of "are you there", "are you mad at me", ect. Annoying as all get out because he'd always do it while I was tanking an instance. Y'know, something that requires a little concentration? Glad he quit the game just after Cata. If he ever comes back he's probably going on ignore.

I had a tool like that, he took it to the extreme. I helped him down a boss in outlands, next thing I know he texted all his friends, to text me, and add me as a friend. I’m getting requests for gold, help, tips, grouping.
I was in a hard core raiding guild at the time. I remember getting a request from him in the middle of a raid. I explained what I was doing and was promptly told to leave raid, and help him, and his friends. Then his friends started to text me that I HAD to help them. I told them to stop harassing me and I was not going to help. Then the guild leader in guild chat wants to know who my friend is, and why I recommended him to the guild… plus his friends….
We had a fun laugh at that and several guildies ran this guy all over the place “helping†him. Oh you need to travel to this continent; I’ll meet you there in 30 minutes… lol.

I still don't understand why Blizzard hasn't added in the option that is in LOTRO, only except tells from friends, guild members and group members.
Stops all spamming.

Technically, there are addons that do this and have for years. So, it's in there, it just isn't a built-in "official" feature.

I usually just tell them to meet me in the bank so I can withdraw funds and just leave them there.
