Primary reason to use a tank spec is that you can reduce your chances of being critically hit by 6%. As a Paladin tank you just have so many ways to annoy people its hilarious fun.

I have to admit that shield tanks aren't near as beastly after cata (imo) as they were before due to the fact that you just don't have tons of mastery on pvp gear. However blood DK's....they're super nasty. I still enjoy pvping in tank spec though.

My feral druid is "tank specced" for PvP - I still do excellent damage in cat form, and can survive quite an assault in bear form - best of both worlds. Not to mention I can tank the bosses in AV and IoC without problems.

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.

So what's a good way to shut up the "PvP tanks? LOLz!" [Ignortantnewb reports you "afk" type /afk to clear it] kind of guys?

I don't know how much the game has changed, but tanks rocked in AB and WSG. Especially if the tank knew how to push buttons and get people to focus on them.

AB specifically, I can't tell you how many times the match was won by a shrewd tank camping nodes.

WSG, I was part of many a lost and won BG that came down to0 how well a tank handled a flag.

They can also make pretty good flag runners in WSG and Twin Peaks
