It always happens, every battleground I enter in my tank spec I get the question "Why are you pvping as a tank? That's stupid!" I have my reasons. Some battlegrounds are designed to use tanks. Strength and resilience shields can be purchased at the honor vendor. Perhaps survivability is important. But tanks don't do good dps! Tanks can't heal! They're a waste of space in a BG! Is that what you think? Do you tank in PvP? Does having a tank in a BG affect the outcame?
The Topic of the Week is a contest run by WoW Vault! The best reply will receive VIP Insider for 2 weeks! Potential winning posts are judged according to length, interpretation of the subject and writing style.

Tanks are bloody amazing in PvP if someone knows how to use one.

Tanks are great to have in any bg particularly the ones that require guarding such as Arathi Basin.

The best part is, I typically remove 3 to 4 alliance players from the BG because their little egos get so bruised that they focus on trying to kill me, as I continually self heal, when they could ACTUALLY be killing at least 3 to 4 other horde.
Protip, don't waste your time focusing on a tank that won't go down. Move on kill SEVERAL easier targets, you get more honor that way
Same principle applies to trying to solo a resto shaman or resto druid kids. Move ON!

Mostly I go holy in BG's there are only a fwe I go Prot in. AB would be one of my favorites. I jsut stand on the flag and interupt, interupt. Takes them forever to kill me and I can usually keep them off the flag long enough for help to arrive. Even if they focus my healer I'm still there when he rezzes.
Isle of Conquest and AV are both BGs that are a little easier if you have a tank or two.

I love playing as tank in Bg's, and in PVP in general....
Makes all the difference in several BG's.
