Unfortunately I'm still addicted. My therapist keeps telling to me to just wait for B-Team to improve the game more and then I'll be able to break my habit much more easily.

Cataclysm ended my need to play wow. I just play it now as a diversion until other games come along.
Exactly. Im just playing again because theres nothing else to play right now, not at all because I really love anything about the game anymore.

Cat expansion was the final nail.
Didn't have a problem with how hard things had gotten, just how "stupid". (see: railcart questing, cut scenes, talent trees, etcetera.)
That's 2 games now that have been killed for us by the devs releasing an expansion starting with those 3 letters. (see: DAoC Catacombs which also changed their persistent world/gameplay.)
Currently playing Rift and enjoying the community there as well as devs that seem to be responsive in a measured way. I'll admit the game isn't as compelling as WoW was many years ago. The devs there at least seem (A) in touch (B) intelligent (C) concerned about their customer's experience.
Sadly, I cannot say the same about the current crew at Blizzard.

Did you like the ToA expansion?

Actually, yes I did. However, I was extremely vocal both on the VN board and elsewhere (VCs,etc), about the debacle it created and concerns about the future of the game (which were obvious).

WoW still has several years left. Only question is, what will the quality be like? I honestly think they should add live events and do something more with the pvp side.
But for me, Cata ruined WoW, though I may resub just to play the DW raid.

They need to break from the expansion same ol' same ol' cycle. It might take more than a million lost players to make that happen, though, especially with an unnamed MMO in the works.

"What killed WoW for you?"
Age mainly, just like EQ1 it eventually lost the thrill after several years. Longer and longer breaks until I just didn't feel like going back ever.
The direction changes in CATA certainly contributed to the burn out, especially the instanced questing for me. Not being able to quest together with someone in the area just because they were in a different phase resulting in I couldn't even see them as we crossed in/out of different land blocks or whatever. It was tolerable in the starting areas for Worgen/DK but I found it far too annoying past that.
But still looking forward to trying their next MMORPG unless it turns out to have too much of the stuff I don't like such as instancing, micro-transactions, etc which may well be the case.

Age is hurting WoW more than anything else. Games are meant to be enjoyed, played until they are mastered, then you move on. I think the expectation for the same game to remain compelling and exciting for 10 years is unrealistic.
WoW is still a great game. One of the greatest and most fun I have ever played. Naysayers that are honest with themselves will agree that was true for them at one point as well.
Just smile sadly and move on when you are done... or you can stay on this forum and bitch about how the game isn't fun for you anymore, but even those bitter folks seem to be gone now.
As for WoW's future, it will be around for a long time to come. People are still playing EQ and Asheron's Call for gods sake. How can you even imagine that WoW is going anywhere with so many paying customers left?
This board is dying a slow and painful death though. I blame the aforementioned naysayers personally. Most people who want to discuss matters regarding WoW have moved on to a less negative venue. I'm only here kicking around tumbleweeds because I'm bored today. I don't play WoW or follow this board much anymore.
I will be back to Blizzard for Diablo 3 though.
