This is something I've been putting together for a little while. Finally finished it, so want to share

http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9091768

I'm not a writer or editor, so it could be better. It's just something I wanted to put out there as someone who loves to play MMO's, but can't seem to find a good one to play anymore.

There will almost positively be flames about some of it, and I'm cool with that. I would like to hear what other people look for in MMO's as well.

Good on you if you can make it through the whole thing though. It's pretty long

Not bad. You could use the UO skill system instead of Skyrim - both are actually very similar.
Oh, and DAoC PvP sucked. It's the first to have introduced "PvP in a box", which then ended in battlegrounds.
Give me meaningful guild vs guild PvP, a bit like UO but enhanced, where players create their own factions, as opposed to the game doing it for you.

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.
GW2: Future Warrior.

So you found an editor to review it for you?

I read your TLDR version and it definitley has me intrigued. I'll read it all tomorrow.

Yeah, I liked the UO skill system as well. The Skyrim one is pretty similar though, and allows for leveling of your character. I'm pretty easy on either of those myself. As long as the skills get harder to raise as you progress.

I really liked DAoC PvP. Well, PvP in Classic and SI, before New Frontiers. I could run with a guild group for team play, or play my stealther if I felt like soloing. Battlegrounds were for lower players only, so it didn't affect the high level PvP much. No factions would be cool as well, but having incentives to go PvP is a pretty good idea. Also, Darkness Falls, need to see another one of these in a good PvP game.

Not really. I sent it to someone who gave me some pointers, but I didn't really know what to do with it. I probably would have been working on it for weeks and it likely would have come out worse

True enough. Removing /follow against enemies would have been a pretty good move for DAoC. /face too, although running through people would have been highly abused, that's mostly because DAoC's character control wasn't that great.

DAOC's PvP just was not compelling. People only bothered for the RAs, and usually stopped around RR3 to RR5, which even back in the day was only a month or so of nightly Emain grinding.

I would say from reading just a the TLDR version and skimming the rest, the only MMO that will come close to what you are saying right now will be GW2. Will it have everything you are asking no, but it looks like it will have the most of it in many ways.

Not only that, but GW2 can cut thru a tin can and still slice tomatoes.
