Thirty days is way too short of a time, some people take 30 day vacations every year. I am sure that even with the human element the game used to have they wouldn't of transferred after just 30 days so their implementation was off the mark.

But for some perspective was a small crappy guild in a game which you weren't playing so who cares.

I feel worse for the others, the people that were still playing that have lost their guild. I think it is lame, but I can deal.

As much as I agree with this feature, the 30 days should have started when patch 4.3 went live and shouldnt have used prior absentee time to auto kick.

If they were still playing then likely they logged in sometime over the past month or so, though. Yes it sucks and probably could have been implemented better, but people who are actively playing should not be affected at all really.

I support the original poster for being upset and what was obviously a well-intended feature that got abused. Of course, the game seems to have a history of good ideas that are abused by that portion of the player-base that exists to cause mayhem and grief.

As already pointed out here, if it is primarily intended as a banking guild, then don't have anybody in it you don't know and trust. It's not uncommon to see someone selling a guild in trade, and it can be quite a bargain ... especially if the guild name is not repulsive. Storage in the game is a pain in the behind, especially if you have several "gathering" toons, along with bunches of old armor or other items you might hold onto for various reasons.

The solution to this is:

Right after you cancel your sub, boot everyone from the guild, period.

This.
